The bi-monthly newsletter called Sampradaan, has been SICP's flagship publication since 1997. It aims to promote and strengthen Indian philanthropy for social development by motivating and informing people about the act of giving wisely to charitable causes. It contains highly informative articles from experts, capsules relating to philanthropy in India and around the world, excerpts from Government reports, and more.
T
he newsletter is subscribed to by a variety of key players in the corporate sector, trusts/foundations, educational institutes and the voluntary sector. It is mailed to around 1000 organisations and individuals interested in or involved in social development, including NGOs, companies with corporate social responsibility programmes, policy makers in key social sectors, international and national donor organizations and teaching institutions such as Tata Institute of Social Sciences, the four IIMs, and so on.

Of the six issues we bring out each year, one is a bumper annual issue in October, which consists of research-based articles on different facets of civil society, especially philanthropy. Other issues carry interviews, news from abroad, information on legal matters pertaining to civil society organizations, research highlights, profiles of good organizations and policy changes. The other five issues are generally theme-based, with each issue comprising one section on features, an interview with an eminent person known for his/her association with philanthropic issues and activities, information about charitable initiatives at the grassroots level, and news about philanthropic activities in India and abroad. Information is also provided on advocacy work in the context of making government legislations favourable to philanthropy.
Current print run of Sampradaan is 1000 with a mailing list of around 900 that comprises companies interested in social development, NGOs, donor agencies, Trusts and Foundations, and individuals and institutions. Of the 900 people who receive the newsletter, quite a few are subscribers.
